Designed to help learners working at Entry 3 improve their confidence and understanding of practical English skills for work and everyday life, developing strategies to use when completing any task requiring reading skills, such as decoding words, comprehension, vocabulary-building, and critical thinking.
Learners practise skimming, scanning, vocabulary in context, inference and practical understanding through a variety of real-life scenarios from texts such as:
- online shopping webpage
- marketplace advert
- job adverts
- school newsletter
- GP appointment letter
- energy bill and usage graph
